Empowering Education Through Redevelopment
Our current project is the redevelopment of Alpha Day School in Ilesha, Nigeria. The school has been up and running since 1986 and is now in need of refurbishment to improve educational outcomes for the students.
We are aiming to raise funds to completely refurbish the school building which is in need of a new ceilings, roofs with solar panels, windows and doors replacement, plumbing and electrical work.
This is to elevate Alpha school to the much desired and deserving height, worthy of modern-day committee of education providers.
About us
The story started with late Deaconess Grace Abimbola Ajayi who started the school at Iyana Ipaja, Lagos Nigeria in 1979. On her journey to United states of America, she attended Montgomery College where she studied Early childhood Education in her bid to harness up to date information and skills required for running a successful education facility in her days.
On return to Nigeria from united Sates of America, late Deaconess Ajayi was inspired to start a branch of Alpha school in her hometown, Ilesha where it became a beacon of hope to many children and families. She sent her daughter Yemisi Olowoyo ahead as a pioneering school head and director in 1985. After rigorous publicity and months of marketing Alpha Day school Ilesha started with 8 children of varying age range and abilities in a rented accommodation at Irojo..
Mrs Yemisi Olowoyo as a young lady worked there tirelessly as an unpaid school director for 3 years during which the school became a household name in the area. Mrs Yemisi Olowoyo departed to further her education at University of Lagos, leaving Alpha school in her mother’s reigns and under the care of an employed Headmistress in 1988.
Alpha Day school continued to thrive and moved to her permanent site Aralopon village in Irojo with two standard buildings. Things took a downward trend when Mrs Ajayi fell ill and finally passed on May 21, 2015, at the age of 73. The school got into a deplorable state following this. Dr EA Ajayi, her father (now late) decided to hand back the ownership and management of the school to Mrs Olowoyo on 29/10/2019. Since then, the school have begun an all-encompassing recovery journey with an overarching aim of becoming a model school she had once been.
Join us on this journey of restoration as we seek to modernise the school, give the students the best facilities possible and equip them for modern day living.

Testimonials
I was one of the first 3 students of Alpha Day Nursery and Primary school, Irojo Ilesha alongside my sister Adejumoke Adenipekun and Idowu Eniola. The foundation of Alpha Day was built on God as we were constantly taught the word of God alongside our academics. We got the best form of fundamental knowledge academically, morally, spiritually, medically, socially, even feeding (I can never forget the taste and aroma of aunty Yemisi's stew 🤩) Our dearest mother of blessed memory, Deaconess Ajayi trained us as her own kids such that even when we are outside the school i.e in church, she still look out for us. I remember in 1989 when there was an anti-government protest and we were in school, she made sure every one got home safely even in the midst of a serious riot. I missed her greatly. The confidence Alpha built in me has helped me over the years. I remember that we were always given the opportunity to express ourselves either we were right or wrong and this really built my confidence which is helping me strive in the media at the moment. I recommend Alpha Day Nursery and Primary school, ilesa to all. Long live Alpha.
